Okay, so I think quite some people are confused. So I think I'll list out the changes here...

Oscar will remain as Oscar, tqvm to those who voted.
The cartoon girls (at the back) which we intended to vary will all be standardised to the long ponytail girl (ie, everyone will have a shirt with the long ponytail girl).
The tee will be GREEN.

And quite a few things to clear up too.

Will the shirt be...

cotton or dry-fit?
round-necked or polo (collared)?

AND WHAT IS OUR BUDGET???!!! -frantic-

Okay... Less than a week to school reopens -wails- It's been weeks of sleeping late (though we do that in normal days too!! :D) and waking up late xD so it's rather ughughugh. And more homework -groans- Yup, but I do miss all of you ~~guys~~ girls, and looking forward to 113 '10!!

Anyway, some last minute changes to the class tee stuff o.O not again, yes yes. Yup, because I realised that some of you ppl might print out in BLACK AND WHITE, so when I scan it into the com, the stuff are in BLACK AND WHITE, making it kinda inconvenient, and I'm not so sure how to add the colours in sadly ):

So the thing is, some of your designs (of your names) might not be used (oh no I'm so so sooooooooooooooo soorrrrrrryyyy!!!), especially those who did it BLACK AND WHITE. So if you'll be really upset about that, I'm suuuuper suuuuuper sorrrrrryyyyyyy!!!!

And, regarding the picture of Oscar on the front of the tee... I've found two other candidates (:

Okay, just to clarify sooooooooooo many doubts. And suggestions. I thought I closed suggestionsa long (really long) time ago ): So do we have to change the design again?

Okay nevermind. I think the skin tone's dark either because...
a) I used my handphone camera to take it and the colour might be a bit off.
b) Go check out your computer's Paint software. They don't have much colour options (I didn't use Photoshop cos my computer model is too old for it, sadly)

And, please name another character that is green and can fit onto the front bottom of the class tee. Unless you want to change the colour of the shirt (very 麻烦)

HELLO!
As Marshie had suggested the class tee before (which is kindof a custom since many other classes have it alr), i thought of the class having a yearbook on our own after the end of secondary 2 with our memories collated in pics and messages to one another... The school doesn't appear to provide such things and anyway, we're gonna miss one another when we separate into classes based on subject choice in secondary 3.

The software Smilebox does help personalise things like scrapbook items and then it'll be really easy to collate everything.. so the happy memories of 113 and 213 '10 stay!

Hmm yeah. I've just read someone's blog, and I've got to say, that I'm really disappointed. Very disappointed. And I just want to say, that I've never expected 113 to be like this, well, anyone from 113 to be like this. And the stuff I'm going to say now, are stuff that you'd NEVER expect me to say it verbally.

First issue. Hey, I know that sometimes, we might really detest somebody, which leads to impuslive actions, like swearing and cursing that somebody on your blog. I admit, I've done that before, to my mother actually, and you know what? I've learnt from it, that it would really hurt that person's feelings. Put yourself in that person's shoes. That person can't possibly change her character just because you don't like it. You don't like it, then you've no right to curse her. Or him. Or whoever. Okay I know this sounds super serious. And I sound dumb 0.0 But the point is, wouldn't you feel hurt too, if somebody stabbed your back like this? Or even worse, a classmate? I really think that's over the line. I mean, I did that to my mother, and it was terrible (worse than to a classmate, really), but I think that it's also really horrid if you backstab your classmate like this too. An unknowing classmate.

Second issue. NAME TAG. There are a lot of guilty people for this topic. The name tag is part of our 红字 uniform, and I don't see why some people insist on doing without it. If your anyone keeps asking you to wear your name tag, I don't see why you have to be irritated with him or her. Let me get this clear, all right? It is YOUR FAULT that you don't wear your name tag; you have no right to be annoyed if the people around you keep insisting and nagging that you wear your name tag. The solution? Pin that red piece of plastic onto your uniform now.

Third issue. Ever heard of the phrase "Pot calling kettle black"? If you haven't, let me share with you the definition. Pots and kettles both have black bases, yet the pot calls the kettle black, when it is also black. It's really sickening, how some people call others that they are Goodie-Two-Shoes, and always 拍马屁 to the teachers, when those some people do it themselves too. Really. Yes fine, everyone's guilty of it in one way or another. But still...

Fourth issue. If you feel mega pissed for the day, here's a tip: Don't ever vent your anger on an innocent person. I think it's really like 冤枉, and it isn't very fair. I mean, I'm guilty of doing it sometimes too, but not to the extent of swearing about them on my blog.

Fifth issue. I know during PCCG and Class Contact Time, a lot of people think it's really boring, and do their own stuff. Sometimes, I do it too. I don't think it's very nice, because this is the time for our class to like "bond" and discuss about our class welfare. Also, you are not paying attention to the person who is talking, which is let's just say, not very encouraging.

Hmm I think this is all I have to say. For now. Should I expect a lot of opinions or comments or insults? Hope not, because really, I'm just ~~voicing~~ writing out and sharing my opinions, since I obviously don't have the guts to say it out :P

Same plan, PLEASE CONTINUE TO WRITE YOUR NAMES ON THE CLASS TEE (THE PREVIOUS DESIGN). Once school starts, I will try to copy onto the new one (i.e. this one here). I tried to follow your suggestions, and the Oscar the Grump (or whatever) from Sesame Street below in the class tee can be changed to another thing, if the rest of the class agrees. I just find that like this, it looks really cute (:

Yar, I think I can request for the manufacturer to digitally remove it and put it as the same colour as the shirt instead. There's a white box there cos I drew it on Paint and couldn't removie it ): And I'm saying this, cos a lot of people have been asking me why there's a white box there. And oh yeah, the "short hair", "short ponytail", "long ponytail" ideas still stay!!

FINAL CLASS TEE--AND I MEAN IT!!

The title tells everything, okay. This is the FINAL CLASS TEE NO MORE AMMENDMENTS. Because I'm tired of making so many many many designs and nobody ever listens (well only like two to four people) so I don't care already!! >:D No seriously.

For the front of the tee, there is a speech bubble, which each one of you has to write your name (and design nicely!!) in. The drawing of the girl shown here is the one with the pigtail, and there are another two of one with a ponytail and a short haired one. I will send the whole class these three documents through email, and there will be a list included for who to download which document. And at the back of the tee, you don't have to bother about anything, but those few curvy lines are actually a rainbow which I haven't coloured :D

Hello 113! To be nice I'm updating. (See, I'm so nice, and humble! :D)

This is actually meant to be an advert for yixin's and my new service, called FatAss Delivery. Basically, we help you deliver letters (within the class :D) but bear in mind that we only serve toes/ fingers. We'd be happy to help you anytime, provided you admit that you're a toe/ finger.

You should patronize us because

1) of our name. FatAss is so much more creative than FedEx, don't you think?
2) of our all-time low charges. (Actually, there're NO charges, as of yet.)
3) of ... what?

Okay that was just a joke to cheer you all up. In case you're not cheered up/ don't get it, you can forget about that.

Yep. The only thing that I wanted to tell you was that it makes me happy to see that you guys are coping pretty much WELL, I would think, with accepting your EOY results! :D just wanted to say that you shouldn't be discouraged from striving for what you want just because of a tiny hiccup you meet with along the way. Or, should I say, tiny hiccupS you meet with. Compared to what you're actually going to see when you actually venture out into the real world, not getting the A1 you wanted for an exam is really nothing. So just focus on what you want, and work hard okay! And maybe you'll never be the best, but at least you'll get somewhere! :D So don't cry when you don't get the marks you expected, because the end of our path is still a long, long time away. You'll still have chances to make up. :D And if you do exceptionally well, then good for you! But remember that one success doesn't mean you'll suceed forever. And when those times come, just tell yourself that you'll work harder! :D Even if you have some obsessive compulsive disease and you HAVE to compare your results or achievements with other people, don't overlook competing with yourself too! (: It's about who you are as a whole, and academics aren't ALL. You just have to do what you want, so you'll actually like whatever you do. (:

On a lighter note, EOYs are over! :D (Or did you realise that a long time ago? ._.)

One question they put on the article is this one. Try doing it, take it as practice for IM!! :D

3. GLOWING BOTTLE! event for charity!!! it's happening This Sunday, 20/09/2009 :DD
well, basically it's a CIP event; we'll be walking down Orchard Road carrying these cool 'lanterns' which are actually glowsticks put in bottles filled with water! it's a flash mob event 8D aka, COOL :DD

the aim of this event is to generate awareness for Student Advisory Centre (SAC), whose five main aims are:
(i) Helping students with a high potential from leaving school to stay in school.
(ii) Giving free meals to students from financially disadvantaged families.
(iii) Helping students with low self esteem gain greater confidence
(iv) Helping students with delinquent behavior’s recognize and correct their actions
(v) Helping students with a low interest and inability to study effectively reach their potential.

Hello, the lovely class of onethirteen. I've a few things to say, okay? Okay.
Firstly and most important/urgent, is our classroom cleanliness, or rather the lack thereof. Our class is not only not clean, it is dirty, unhygienic, and a potential biohazard. Yes.
Therefore, Etsuko has proposed that we clean up on Wednesday (you know, on Wednesday we're going back to school for Geography, right? Yeah lar.) and make Mr. Tan less angry.
In case you haven't received the email or something, Mr. Tan has emailed the class very agitatedly about erm, this:

Aesthetic Appeal on YDF Jelly

Gee this sounds formally formal.
Haha Okay thankies Sabrina for inviting me so I can post.
Er... for the publicity horh.... the details of the stuff are rather vague so how am I gonna decorate the posters? Cause I suppose I wanna make a bit of connection to the details... I mean for the design of the poster. ._.
And... ohoh I was reading Readers' Digest instead of doing my school work today (-.-) and I chanced upon this thingy concerning decoration of jellies. And there's a hands-on:

The concept is that they were introducing the gal that makes jell-Os appealing in terms of building structures out of the humble child snack. So she has built a city model of San Francisco out of Jell-O 0.0 and I got a brain wave.
So I continued reading (gah I'm seriously beating around the bush. To the point YanLi to the point!)
SO its a real real short article (if this is changwensuoduan i'll fail it. budden i'll pass increasing-the-length-of-a-short-article with flying colours sighs) and then at the bottom there's a hands - on.
So I was thinking that they suggested we cut out shapes of fruits (might have to be harder ones like starfruit, mangoes, cantaloupe, etc. or it'll crumble or something ) and erm blue Jell-O Gelatin (is that like jelly?) Then slice the fruit thin and flat and use fish-shape cookie cutters to cut the sliced fruit into shape. Then erm assemble them in against a glass container (this has to be quick) before you pour the blue Jell-O in to set.
And voila!
It's a blue Jell-O against fishes so it's called a Jell-O aquarium so I tot the theme for jellies could be like either the sea or something... or maybe. erm. idk. beeg stuff? 0.0
I improvised from there so I think we can have erm volcanos too (as in red Jell-O and colourful fruit so it looks like fruit lava) and a beach theme. (like yellow Jell-O and wavy pieces of fruit - that can dye with whatever colours or use that coloured fruit etc. like blue or something).
Can you guys tag on the tagboard and tell me if this is okay? And if jell-O is jelly or something like that. I know pre-packed is more erm convenient and easy but I really got a good feeling about this aesthetic appeal (ie. stands a good chance! plus it's got credentials -chingching- adapted from Rachael Ray). Yeps.... so yah thanks for reading this boring post. ;)

And er... shucks the rdasia.com can't post the picture of the end product of the jell-o and my scanner is spoilt. Sorry guys you gotta imagine.

Precautionary Measures to Cope With Influenza A (H1N1) When School Reopens

1Schools will re-open on Monday, 29 June 2009, as scheduled. To slow down the spread of the H1N1 virus in the school community and in Singapore when school re-opens, MOE will issue a 7-day Leave of Absence (LOA) to all school staff and students returning from affected countries , on and after 22 June 2009, to stay away from school. There will also be stepped up precautionary measures and public education efforts in schools.

Implementation of Leave of Absence (LOA)

2Schools will communicate with all parents via multiple channels to obtain the updated travel history of their children, inform them of the implementation of LOA, and update them on any new advisories given out by MOH. The multiple channels include phone calls, emails, postal letters and notices on school websites.

3Schools will remind all school staff and students to exercise social responsibility to declare their travel history if they have been to affected countries and to stay at home for 7 days before returning to schools.

Continuity in Learning for Students on LOA

4For students who are issued LOA, schools will provide Home-Based Learning (HBL) lessons to them, based on what the rest of their classmates are learning in school. Schools will deliver the materials for HBL and monitor the students’ progress through various channels, such as mail, telephone, hand delivery, email and the school’s learning management system. Schools will also keep parents informed of the learning activities and accompanying study schedule. This will allow parents to play a complementary role by helping to monitor their children’s progress in following the lessons prepared by the teachers. When these students return to school, teachers may also conduct make-up lessons to ensure they catch up with their classmates.

5Extra attention will be paid to graduating cohorts of students. Schools will conduct make-up classes and remedial lessons to help them catch up with their studies, and to prepare them adequately for the national examinations.

Additional Precautionary Measures

6When school re-opens on 29 June, schools will implement a number of precautionary measures. There will be several layers of checks. This includes setting up stations at the school gates to screen students and staff who are entering the school premises. At the screening stations, those who have returned from affected countries on and after 22 Jun but who may have missed the earlier notifications, will be served LOA and asked to go home. Those who are unwell will be also advised to go home. In the first hour, class teachers will conduct a temperature taking exercise and students will be asked to submit their declaration forms. Students who register a fever, or who have travelled to affected countries, will be immediately moved to another room. Those who are unwell and have travelled recently to affected countries will be isolated and taken by ambulance for medical treatment via 993. The school will inform the parents of other unwell students so that they can bring them to see a doctor and seek their cooperation to exercise social responsibility and ensure that their children are well before returning to school.

7Schools will institute twice daily temperature taking, and closely monitor students. In addition, school assemblies will be suspended and CCAs scaled down during the first week after school reopens in order to minimise congregation of school staff and students. Recess will also be staggered. Schools will continue to keep their premises clean and remind their staff and students to maintain high standards of personal hygiene. There will also be tighter school security. All visitors will also be screened for travel history and temperature taking before they enter school premises.

Cooperation by Parents

8MOE seeks the cooperation of parents to safeguard the health of their child and all students. Parents are requested to:

Inform their child’s class teacher if their child has returned from an affected country on or after 22 Jun and not send their child to school for 7 days from the date of their return to Singapore;
Complete the travel declaration form that will be sent to them before school opens and ask their child to submit it to their teacher on the first day of return to school. As there will be no assembly for the first week, students should report to their form classes; and
Exercise social responsibility by ensuring that their child does not go to school, but stays at home and sees the doctor if he/she is unwell.

School and Public Education

9To support schools in their effort to educate students in maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and practise social responsibility, MOE has developed an Education Package on H1N1 for students of all levels.

10All schools will receive the Education Package before school reopening. The package includes a set of slides for teachers to use in educating and advising their students, posters to be displayed at strategic locations within the school to raise student awareness, as well as pamphlets for students to bring home and share with their parents. The pamphlets will include messages on good hygiene practices and social responsibility, for example on how students on LOA should stay at home to monitor their health condition and not congregate at public places.

11Schools will dedicate time on the first day of school for teachers to help students gain a better understanding of H1N1 and the situation in Singapore. Teachers will use the materials to educate their students and communicate to them the importance of their role in helping to slow down the spread of H1N1.

Close Monitoring of Dynamic Situation

12MOE is in close consultation with MOH and will activate appropriate measures should there be a need to. Parents and students can check the MOE website for more details. They can also contact MOE Customer Service Centre at 6872-2220 or call their child’s school if they have any query.

You're advised to check the updated list of affected countries on 29 June (http://www.moh/gov.sg)

Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Phillipines, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Some of you might've heard it before, but never mind :D
Here goes.. (omgosh i suddenly crave pizzahut!)

A man is driving down the road and his car breaks down near a monastery.

He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, “My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?”

The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, and even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound. A sound unlike anything he’s ever heard before. The Sirens that nearly seduced Odysseus into crashing his ship comes to his mind. He doesn’t sleep that night.

He tosses and turns trying to figure out what could possibly be making such a seductive sound. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” Distraught, the man is forced to leave.

Years later, after never being able to forget that sound, the man goes back to the monastery and pleads for the answer again.

The monks reply, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.”

The man says, “If the only way I can find out what is making that beautiful sound is to become a monk, then please, make me a monk.”

The monks reply, “You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of grains of sand. When you find these answers, you will have become a monk.”

After years of searching he returns as a gray-haired old man and knocks on the door of the monastery. A monk answers. He is taken before a gathering of all the monks.

It's been a hectic year i know really, with all the sias (shock!) and homework and block tests. But I must congratulate 113, we MADE IT THROUGH the whole half-year! YAYE! -claps- so in the remaining half of the year, we should strive to

1) stop giving your subject reps -cough- headaches! make their jobs easier! YAYE! ( er i know this is a really inappropriate yay, but er nevermind. -dodges xuanli's hand trying to whack me on the head-)

2) give our monitors a break! volunteer enthusiastically when asked for suggestions etc and erm pay attention during surveys and such! (i really need to work on this =.=)

3) write more appreciation cards! encourage each other! Trust me, you'll really need the motivation to make it through 4 YEARS!! (shock) let's all learn to give and take a little, yay!

4) youshouldreally try to appreciate and really appreciate your deskies/ groupmates! yes! show some form of thanks can or not? Can! YAY!! cos you've been sitting with them for onewholeterm and that includes your ex-deskies as well, YAY!! so thank them for helping you and clarifying your doubts and providing endless help and tolerating with your nonsense and teaching you stuff when you barely understand :D

5)this is for me exclusively, STOP YAYING.

6) okay.erm manage our time better! (this includes ME D:)

7) strive for better results as a class! and this means not one full- mark and all the rest bare passes but it means the whole class average like 75-85/100! okay that's a pretty big range but then again it'd be clearer than "0-100/100" wouldn't it. ~~YAY!~~

Hi all!

For youth day funfair i was thinking of something. (food item) Building on Huiting's idea...in case you all didn't really catch what i was saying in class.

Okay! So we buy loads of bread, and use cookie cutters to cut out the shapes. Toast the bread. Allow buyers to choose if they want peanut butter/nutella/jam, with mnm/something/somethingelse2 on top.

Pros of this idea:
QUITE creative
visually appealing
if we do it and present it well i think it might be rather popular.

Cons:
price may be expensive
those who come late may be forced to choose from flavours they don't want, resulting in a loss of customers
chance of being messy

So 113 tomorrow let's vote; I'm still open to other suggestions! But we must settle by tomorrow because I need to do the proposal over weekend:D

On a sidenote, please tell kellynn if you want the 10 dollar tshirt and what size! EVERYBODY JIAYOU!i cant emphasise the importance of carrying out your specific roles responsibility.

hi onethirteen! this post is about your BREAKFAST on 17 April; like two weeks and three days from now [Friday] with the principal! so exciting! it's supposed to be healthy so as your activity coordinator i'm suggesting that we have fruit juice and an extremely leafy sandwich. i know it sounds icky, and i'm totally open to suggestions! :D :D

SANDWICH
we should use whole grain bread for the sandwich, and put in some leaves [like lettuce] and use low-fat margarine! so do you want it to be made and put in a plastic bag or do you want to make it yourself on that day?

i'd pick the second option because maybe we could have a buffet-style thing where there are containers of jam, margarine, peanut butter, ham, lettuce, pickles, cheese, tomatoes etc. with a huge bag of bread. it'll be fun! you get to pick what you want in your sandwich!! :D but hey voice your opinions...

DRINKS
a little tricky because the drinks would be warm already S: if we really want to be healthy i'd list a few options:

- fruit juice
- soya bean milk
- water
- ~~coke~~

if you don't like warm drinks we can leech from water coolers on the day itself. OR, we could make some sort of arrangement with the fresh fruits stall so they can deliver your icy cold fruit smoothies! you'd each have to pay 80 cents though.

heys everyone. here's a reminder from your beloved janitor to remember to bring whatever recycled and unwanted materials in your homes, most importantly the toilet roll stuff to school tomorrow for the CNY decorations on monday. plus red paint cause we'll have to paint the toilet rolls so they'll resemble firecrackers.

anyway second issue to address:the class tee.

rebecca i already clarified that the prize is at most $3000 and not $250000 over the phone right? don't get your hopes too high; you were so excited about the prize mone:) and if we are to win the $3000, our designs have to be exceptionally creative and outstanding--we're competing against the whole of singapore to emerge as the top 20. i originally had an idea which i thought was quite good but then my phone rang and i clean forgot about it. never mind.

as everyone would have noticed by now, uhhh. i added the class photo to the template lah. and uhh. sorry if not nice lor, i edited like siao. black and whited the back ground..then warped the whole background and some other parts. so the really curvy thing on top of our heads is actually the back board 0.o tyhen the sides, the curvy stuff is tables. the floor. curly thingy is someones bag. hahahahahaha! then added names and our slogan and erms. the scrool thingy and the lipstick. okays! and erms.
